Mediplorer CO₂ Carboxytherapy is an intensive Japanese skin treatment that uses a special CO₂ gel mask. CO₂ stands for carbon dioxide. For the treatment, two components, a gel and a powder, are freshly mixed together, creating a high concentration of CO₂ in the gel.

When the fresh CO₂ gel is applied to the skin, the skin responds to the presence of CO₂ by stimulating local blood circulation and oxygen supply. Simply put: we do not bring oxygen into the skin, but stimulate the skin to use its own oxygen supply more efficiently. This gives the skin a powerful boost and supports its natural renewal processes.

How the treatment works
How does the treatment proceed?
Cleansing
We start with a thorough cleansing of the face to remove make-up, sebum and surface impurities. This prepares the skin for the next steps.
Preparing the skin
Depending on the skin's condition, we prepare the skin further so the CO₂ treatment can be carried out optimally.
Activating the CO₂
The Mediplorer treatment is freshly prepared just before it's applied to the skin. The gel and powder are mixed together, generating CO₂ and activating the mask.
Mediplorer CO₂ Gel Mask
The active gel is applied in a generous layer over the face and stays on for about 20 to 30 minutes while the CO₂ reaction takes place. You may experience a distinctive sensation on the skin during this phase.
Removing & cleansing
After the treatment time, the CO₂ mask is carefully removed and the skin is fully cleansed of any remaining gel.
Hydration & finishing care
After the intensive CO₂ phase, the skin receives the care it needs. We finish with hydrating and protective products chosen based on the skin's condition.

Is Mediplorer CO₂ painful?
No. The treatment is non-invasive and no needles or injections are used. During the active CO₂ mask you may experience an intense sensation: the skin can become warm, tingle or temporarily turn a bit red. This is different from pain and is part of the reaction that can occur during the treatment.
What happens after the treatment?
Mediplorer CO₂ has no real recovery period. You can resume your normal daily activities right after the treatment. The skin may be temporarily red or warm right after the mask due to the increased local circulation, but this usually fades away. Afterwards the skin often looks fresh, hydrated and radiant.
Is Mediplorer CO₂ a course of treatments or a single session?
Mediplorer CO₂ works excellently as a standalone treatment when the skin needs an intensive boost. For a more structural improvement of the skin's condition, the treatment can also be carried out as a course. How often we treat depends on the skin's condition, the goal and any combination with other treatments.
